Letting go

A pain in my chest Too strong to deal with, I try to cut it out.

Saved by a loved one But sent away to be with the insane I tried to get better, Listening to the others like me, Helping when I could.

I stopped thinking about her, At least to the extent I had before. Most thoughts were of memories, The good times we had shared, Not the bad I has happier though I missed her greatly.

But then the world came back, The flashing lights, The constant updates from social media, Bombarded with information, Mostly about her.

I fell back into the trap my mind was setting, I was better but not great yet. Stable but barely, One comment or picture away from a breakdown.

The pain in my chest was coming back, 10 days of peace and it was back I knew what I had to do.

I talked, She listened, And I let her go....

Holding on was killing me, Fighting for her was just hurting her. I hope she finds happiness, And that I do too. My only regret is that the happiness was not found in eachother. I have to let go for both our sakes.

Her heart and trust were broken, My heart and mind were shattered, So I had to let go.

And if with time she decides her happiness did lie with me, Then we will deal with it then, But for now we are free from eachother.

Goodbye my love, Find your happiness, For I'll be trying to find mine
