Letting Go, Being Free
Here we are With one quest in life To be free How is this virtuous prize to be won Where is it to be found To be latched down by your own life By your own heart To love someone with your heart And for them to not love back Them being your lock to freedom And the key saying, 'forget' Forget that love For it will never be returned Forget those feelings For they likely have been pushed aside Forget those memories For they are now pain But such great joy comes to mind When one remembers those moments Placing the key by the lock Saying to yourself 'one day but not today' Then losing the next Saying you will never love again That you will erase that stain of lead on your heart That stain from them The lovely messed up perfect joyful stain You take the pink dull eraser And say this is for the best You think its gone You think my feelings i had for them are just a memory Next day, you'll see them You'll laugh at their jokes You'll smile at that smile And you'll for sure hang on their every word Like a vine hangs on the trees The key and eraser are tied together With a gold rope To never break Placed in a dark cold place Where no one will find them The lock still held by them That stain a constant memory That you had the chance to forget You had the chance for freedom But the thing is Loving them is freedom Feeling free every moment you spend with them Feeling like nothing else matters but them Smiling knowing you made the right decision Even if it turns out to be a spill You took the chance You took the hard road And didn't let go For letting go and being free Just lead to displeasure Holding on Is what keeps you strong What keeps you in love
