make it/bus stop
cheese grater teeth i'm sinking into slowly water that's thick, hot and cold all at once make it make it make it, promise and curse you know i'd do anything you asked of me even if you didn't ask i hate to let you down make it make it make it, when i don't know how make it make it make it, what does that mean i swear i'll be good, and do better just for you but one day i might stop, i'll fall and slip away
you say you know i will but i don't know where waiting for my bus stop, but it's not on the map the wheels are turning and maybe getting faster and i can't find the bus stop on this city map maybe i should just stay here though, honestly make it make it make it, ive got so much luggage i don't quite know what i have in all these bags i'll stay on the bus, im not ready to get off yet best not to walk around the city with these bags
I wrote this after my very last high school choir concert. My chorus teacher hugged me, told me she loved me, and that she knew I'd make it so far. This melted my heart and scared the hell out of me all at once. What even is 'making it'? What if she's only saying that because she doesn't see how lazy and minimum effort I truly can be? What if my past and my fears hold me back? That's basically all this poem is, but in the last few lines I accept that I am an anxious person, I'll always have what ifs but that doesn't mean I should stop pursuing my own dreams .
