Peyton Jones's poem is about the pressure girls feel to look a certain way, and the moment a speaker decides to push back against it. It begins by calling society judgmental, then points to the awkward stage when girls' bodies start changing, each in its own way. The speaker notices a contradiction: everyone is different, yet everyone is trying to become the same person.
The Instagram girl is the poem's main example. She looks beautiful, but the speaker guesses she "probably cries herself to sleep," which suggests that perfect images hide private pain. Still, the speaker feels that however hard she tries, she has to try harder. That sense of never being enough runs through the middle of the poem.
The ending turns things around. "Maybe just maybe" sounds hesitant, as if the speaker is testing out a new idea. The blame shifts from "me" to "society." The mood is tired and insecure at first, then tentatively hopeful, and the trailing dots leave the thought open, not fully settled.
