Summer

A season of warmth Growth Fun

Opposite from winter Contrasting greatly From the frostbiting winds And the bone-chilling cold

Schools out Trivial play begins Joy rebuilds A freedom rings

Comforting Friendly The warm sunlight embraces Though, it's not always fun for everyone

Hostile Burning the flesh For some Schooling had been the dystopian escape

Marring their skin Bruises Burns Tears

Now trapped within a unwelcoming home Where the pain flares worse than within the toxic school halls To where the anguish is amplified Without an escape to hide behind

Suffering It is an endless cycle One that Summer fuels No is no tree for the animal to hide behind

Starving Battered Helpless Scorching under the blazing sun

Oh yes It has finally come Summer time? Summer has just begun
