Once upon a time there was a little girl The little girl loved the world, and all that she could see She was daddy’s little princess and mommy’s dream However, she slowly changed as the years passed by She grew up, she learned, she discovered the truth She learned that the world she’d seen was not the world she sees The world was different, the world was harsh And she did not want to live within its boundaries So she cast out away with a shout “I’ll live in my own world, really, So keep your reality away from me!” But her parents began to worry They watched her transform into something terrible They watched her change, just like she watched the world And suddenly, they didn’t love her anymore At first they tried to help, but they only made it worse She only wished to be real, but she could only see the hate They began to back away, sick of all her lies And finally one day the left her completely, And that night the little girl died. For the monster had taken over, the darkness was complete And I know this story… Because that little girl was me.
