Learning to Fall

She was the kind of girl who never looked up Spending her entire life watching her feet Out of the terminal fear that someday she would trip And take that terrible tumble Down Down Down Down And she was so afraid she never once saw the sky Her entire life was glittering pink tennis shoes And the color of the mud ground into the toes It was no life she lived in that pink and brown rainbow So one day she looked up in order to Take that terrible tumble Down Down Down Down To face her fears so she could find the other colors She searched for the secret to fearlessness on the way down But she had never learned to fall And so on that day she terribly cracked her bones Dying slowly on the way down Until they carried her In that terrible tumble Down Down Down Down And as she fell she was the rainbow So arguable it was worth it
