26· dusty covers

Sometimes, you lie, very awake [2/3 insomniac & 1/3 too scared to fall asleep], under dusty covers, thinking about the past, and wondering [or crying] about the mistakes you made, and how undone life feels. [why did the missing piece leave in the first place]? Even though you are huddled under warm blankets and chilled feet, the numbness and despair [you've known them for so long], come and cuddle beside you, beside you underneath [tear stained] covers. [can't breathe, can't breathe, can't breathe...] And all you want, is for others to stop pointing out your mistakes, your sins, your problems, because it cuts deeper than wounds and festers like plagues. [when was the last time someone said something positive for a change]? And the world tells you to stop complaining, when all you want is to be heard. [hear my cry for help] And so you lie awake, over thinking, yet once again, sometimes wishing to never open those tired eyes again. [I'll scream if you tell me again that I'm too young to understand] Hiding away from the blinds, seeking shelter in coves of sheets, tattered from a struggle to scream, bed bugs and monsters under the bed used to be the only things you were afraid about, [but now, you're afraid about everything and anything]...
