Rainbow

The thunder sounded angry, rumbling like an old Freight train. The sky was dark.

The air was damp. The earth was wet with rain. And rivers down the window raced to overflow the drain.

The lights began to Flicker as we rushed to close the door. And mother said she'd never seen the likes of it before, when sudden silence meant it wasn't raining anymore.

A rainbow touched down softly as we opened up the latch By blackened sky then caught my eye,

a glistening, sunny patch. The clouds had parted to reveal this stunning, bright mismatch.
