What it is like to love... Part 1

The poems I wrote left emotions untouched, My feelings lay hidden among my 'friendly' chats, Only if I were to say what my heart wanted to, We'd be closer than where we at. But, what if, it causes dismay, And I lose more than I have, And that's why I better not say, What lies within, this feeling, untamed. Upon which, lies the misery, Of having fallen for the one, Whom I share my worries with, My best friend is what I call her, Now in want of a title that'll mean we're closer, Oh, it'd mean so much more than what stands now, We'd be there in each other's arms, Even when miles apart.

Look me in the eyes 3000 miles away Tell me that you love me Tell me that you'll stay Soak up all the oceans Sail across the seas Fly over the mountains Make your way to me

Too Close, But Not Close Enough

Her: Come here a minute, Wait. No. Stop. That’s good - right there, How about a hug? I want to tell you something, Come closer, Back up, “I love when we’re together,” I always have so much fun when with you, You always make me smile, Sorry I can’t go out this weekend, Sorry I didn’t call you back last night, Me: I love when we’re together, You always make me smile,

A Speck

I walk down the street, See what I know, The world in front of me, Feeling well and tall, A squirrel climbs a tree, A child runs around, Mosquitoes, flies, bees, Some ants on the ground, I stop and stand back, Garnering a better perspective, Of the world I know, Feeling confident and important, I then gaze about the stars, Unable to comprehend the distance, Unable to understand the size, Feeling small in the process,

Best Friends

The days go past And we don't speak; We don't write; We don't chat. When I am at school, You are at home. But when we do talk, It's just like the old days; Like it always was. We pick up where we left off. Because time doesn't matter; Distance doesn't matter, When we're connected by hearts. For that reason, We'll always be best friends.

closer

We used to be close, We did, Like two peas in a pod, They said, It was not me who ended it, Nor you, It was time, And space, Space apart, Or the fact that space, In fact, Had pushed us apart, The hands of the clock, Gripping our very souls, Pulling them apart, Dragging you away,

I have a fear of falling, a fear for falling in love, a fear of falling from a height, a fear of flying, I have a fear for flying thousands of feet above the ground. but let me tell you something.. I fell in love, It was fast and I didn't notice till I was hit with a wave, a wave, an urge to fall. an urge to fall further and harder, it was an unstoppable feeling, I wanted to fly I wanted to travel where no man should, to break through the clouds and break through the distance. I wanted to face my biggest fears even if it meant I would only get a night with you; that alone would be enough, a few hours by your side and in your arms...

the sea used to feel like a void keeping me away, I realise it's a journey I must take, one to get to you. they say distance is hard and time is a blessing, no. distance isn't hard it is a measure of strength, you need strength to cross that space.. for you I would, I'd run, climb anything... anything to be with you. you give me a light, a hope. you give me an inspiration to write these words. the nights are long and the days are short with you but every second counts... every smile and every word fills a void I didn't know I had, you are the first person I think of in the morning and always, always the last person I talk to. The first time you said you loved me I felt the weight of the world ease,

Phone Call

though the mocking wire slew the greenness of your voice The vibrant plastic struck my ear crying and if only this clay machine owned me Next the actual mouth of you I'd have fled in your breath frail as dandelion.

far away

There I go again Staring at the endless black sky, Hoping my tears will go away. The chill from the open window Enters inside, Reminding me of The far away. Oh how I wish I could be there, Far away from where I am. The rain is slowly pouring, Peeking inside from the Small gap between the windows. It caresses my face, Almost asking for help. I look at the cars

watch

And as I watched you watch her/him I realized something.. Maybe I was only meant to admire you from a distance.

Remote

The longest we spoke were when we were quiet The longest time we have spent were far apart How typically ironical that we turned our back too late, after our heart had already intertwined.
