Tierra del Fuego

Tierra del Fuego, Land of Fire! How further long How many days and nights – or would it be months and years Or – would it be never, I shudder to think. How further long would you come to me in my sleep In my waking hours, in my walks in the mountains How further long would it be when I touch you finally? Tierra del Fuego, you have remained a dream Decades old, when unable to resist you, I tore off a picture And kept you in my treasure chest, locked in the depths of my heart! I yearned for you so much, Tierra del Fuego! You were a kindred soul in my tempestuous youth. Your trees twisted in the storm Storms, passionate and intense, Raging waves lashing against the cliffs

stars

Stars litter the sky. Different sizes, shapes and temperatures, Though all of them are burning balls of fire, they are so loved. I feel as though stars are the flowers of the sky. everywhere, different, beautiful, and praised. except burning at anywhere from 3,000 K- 30,000 K degrees. and they are adored. searched for. bought. sold. And viewed in the best light. Seen as kisses of heaven. i want to be seen, as beautifully as the stars. i want to be admired, yearned for,

Letter

I wrote a letter For you to remember The days we spent together And the days we spent away with each other I put my soul into it And I know you’ll read it I wonder if it’ll be the last letter For you to remember the latter I’ll give you this piece This piece of my soul Where I put it in a paper And let it burn into you. I wonder if you got the message This message from my heart This message from my soul With this it all ends.

Before the fall

Pain Like rust You confused it for salt It felt as intense as pleasure Joy Like oil You confused for molasses It felt like a balm to all your wounds Love Like fire You confused it for candlelight It felt like you could blow it out

Sparks

she has little innocent demons inside her eyes, and they recklessly play with matches. --I've never seen sparks so pretty

* * *

Set me alight but not by fire. Use your words, your touch and your gaze. Read every inch of me like your favourite book, Make notes in the margins and crease the pages. Set me alight but not by fire. Kiss me like you'll never see me again, Hold me like I might disappear, Love me like the world is ending. Set me alight, Make me feel more alive than I have before, Hold my hand in the dark, And lead the way in the light. But not by fire, A look is enough, It will ignite every nerve in my body, Awaken my soul.

Drunkenness 3

What do you concentrate on and who do you know? Driving mother's blue Buick over a country dirt road the girl's huge tits, your ardor enough to just about weep and escape or college friendship dull, secure, to sleep. You did find your way home one late summer afternoon the shadows of the green leaves their washing sound exquisite tender sentiment neither here nor there. No putting out the fire with water pure as the rain

Dragon of Space

In the room farther away than a window I am alone taken of myself cross-steps reach the other side is all I must and I am alone to dissolve rocks under my naked eyes cornered aslant this wall huge with sleep feeds on dark air and I am alone how still the mouth of desire

The Highlanders

From this ledge you can see my brothers' camp fires after dark. They are not afraid to be spotted at night; Goat sure in the dark, A dirk in every pleat. You'll hear their pipes across ravines mentioning their dead.

Stories

He stomped his foot to come self through out of him - his hand. His voice was loud and the ear was frightened Now the fire has gone down. Old stories told again, again and again.

The film under an eyelid The roomful of people & afterwards The face pressed to a pillow An irritant as the smoke passes in the mind in a hut on a field of artillery in a fire of napalm
