Emily Dickinson
A little Madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King,
But God be with the Clown --
Who ponders this tremendous scene --
This whole Experiment of Green --
As if it were his own!
I put on my ugly face
to the multitude
my last act
conveniently mad
like the violence of a crow
come to poke at the people
standing in their fixed
and different pastures
in the garden at the madhouse
our minds see much
how the wood
sends us word
who shall take the thin
man in
my taste is for madness
like a verse I never understand enough
I expect to find each child
gone to be born
and I fall into neglect
ward of a poisoned well
all my prayers lying
in an indifferent box
War gives the world an ill music
in praise of the mad.
we call one another mad
like singing scissors
troubled by a committee of papers
and their mode of mad talk
how infinite is the body
as a field for visions
they are fleet
they are not to be kept
not to command
at night if I go mad
call me up a bear
Eye capturing,
Yet deceiving.
Soul,
Madness,
Whole,
Disaster.
Heart entrapped,
Mind enraptured.
Unknown,
Feelings,
Just utter,
Longing.
Loving,
Leaving.
Sad,
Endings,
Torture,
Madness.
Crazy,
Sadness.
Mind,
Wandering,
Thoughts,
Prolonging.
Contemplating,
Life.
Regretting,
Lies.
Holding,
Secrets.
Holding back,
Tears.
I see patterns on the walls.
I see them on the floor.
I see them on the ceiling.
I see them on the door.
I don't know why i see these things,
Sometimes they're really scary.
These patterns try to tell me things,
Some things can be quite merry.
I've seen these patterns for a while now,
The doctor said it was fine.
They show me how to write a poem,
But i still don't know how to rhyme.
"i love you,"
it's a 3-word phrase that
when taken out of context
is seemingly simple
but, in my humble opinion
pushing the idea of love on anyone is
sickening
because
"i love you"
doesn't always mean
"you're my everything"
and
"i love you"
doesn't always mean
"you're my forever"
and maybe
Am I crazy or have I lost my ability to think
Has your love tilted my mind
You showed me little of your love and I went crazy
I need medication to bring me to my senses
If your love is my drug ,let me be addicted
If you're my doctor make me sane
