Listening to friends talking about their mothers;
One said – “She’s eighty, still hale and hearty,
Got to go home for dinner with her”.
Before he could continue, the other said,
“Mine is eighty too, she’s OK,
Though a bit slow in walking”.
Men of my age. Silent, I calculate -
If my mother were alive,
She’d be eighty three.
I wished she had married younger
And I were born first, so that
I could’ve spent, at the most
A bit more time with her.
Now that she’s gone
I wish she weren’t
Though there were times when alive
I stand before the mirror,
Barely able to see my face,
My whole life in front of me,
Hopes and dreams to embrace,
I stand before the mirror,
Not liking what I see,
Small for my age,
Changes occurring constantly,
I stand before the mirror,
Excited about my future,
Lofty goals still I hold,
Naively full of optimism,
I stand before the mirror,
Uncertain of what’s to come,
Full of dedication and determination,
As I’m still young,
whatever cheesy feeling they talk about feeling in movies i feel it with you.
from the first time i saw you,
to every time since then.
i never knew a true home until i found your arms.
and now i never wanna leave.
the butterflies in my stomach, mixed with my heart beat tell me one thing.
and my brain knowing it can't be this way forever say another.
i wish i knew a way to change time, or fast forward it
because i'd make sure you were my future.
because i know when i look into your eyes,
i feel it when i'm with you.
i know when you say say that you're mine,
i feel it with you.
i feel as though time punishes us.
when we can be with each other time moves faster than ever.
Catastrophe is about how I get angry when I don't mean it. How I say words I don't mean, then regret them later.
That's a lie.
This poem does not have a meaning.
Really nothing has a meaning, if you think about it.
Everything withers and dies eventually.
The strongest rock, the sharpest blade.
The rock will crack and disintegrate.
The blade will rust and crumble.
The mind will rot and tear itself apart.
The only thing that is truly eternal is time.
Time is forever.
Time goes on
stalking a man
like a predator
goes after prey
When the time has come
let me go in peace
but until that time
let me do as I please
People make a target
of time yet to come
deciding for me
if I will be gone
The fear that this brings
just cannot be said
but this has a place
in my heart and head
Have you seen
Time is going by
Always moving forward
like the arms of a clock
pushing me forward
when I want to go back
I can't take my time
time hunts me
time wants me
time hates me
I want to...
not move on
I want to stay here
make it right
hide from time
and then...
Every second I spend
debating about a choice
is a second less to live
with the consequences,
if I chose wrong
We used to be close,
We did,
Like two peas in a pod,
They said,
It was not me who ended it,
Nor you,
It was time,
And space,
Space apart,
Or the fact that space,
In fact,
Had pushed us apart,
The hands of the clock,
Gripping our very souls,
Pulling them apart,
Dragging you away,
I ask time to stop passing.
It shimmers
out of existence
for an instant before
it carries on, leaving me
with a sense of
eternity wrapped in
a droplet of sunlight.
In my room
On the top of my dresser
Sits a clock
It does not work
But still tries
To tick toc
When I'm lonely
I look at it
The smallest hand
Struggling to move
Paused on only one time
I think it might be an omen
That maybe
I need to move on
But from what?
A question
the sea used to feel like a void keeping me away,
I realise it's a journey I must take,
one to get to you.
they say distance is hard and time is a blessing,
no. distance isn't hard it is a measure of strength,
you need strength to cross that space..
for you I would,
I'd run, climb anything... anything to be with you.
you give me a light, a hope.
you give me an inspiration to write these words.
the nights are long and the days are short with you but every second counts...
every smile and every word fills a void I didn't know I had,
you are the first person I think of in the morning and always,
always the last person I talk to.
The first time you said you loved me I felt the weight of the world ease,
No use looking now
I'm gone
to BEING
coverings left
in heaps on the floor/sandals
shot like stars across the room
no use looking there
mostly it was lies/no matter now
yesterday's time falls heavy at my feet
poised uncovered trembling
at the peak of sharper pyramids than these
invisible without my time
IS IN BEING ENOUGH
not now digging relics
in a future blasted out of infinite
the moment winged
