I ain't got no one to call my own
And I never really had a home
But honestly, I'd rather be alone
Writing letters to my friends
That probably won't get sent
Is it ever gonna end?
Will I feel it when I get there?
Naming the ache of having no one to call your own, and choosing solitude over the risk
I am stuck in a box tonight
And the people don't care.
I am not acknowledged.
I am not missed.
For all they care, I don't exist.
So I must spend my evenings
With no one.
They laugh. They fight.
They eat their meals or sit quietly.
They don't care about what lies
In the corner of the room.
They don't want to know what's locked inside.
If they did, they'd find what's left
Of a friend they never had.
They'd understand that some must exist
With no one.
The feeling of being boxed away while others carry on, unacknowledged and never missed
Lately I'm feeling alone,
Everything I hear has an off undertone,
Instead of natural light,
No color ever appears right,
And looking around,
There's only me and the ground.
I realize now
That I've become a kind-of hungry crow
-sitting on a pole,
Offer me a finger, I'll eat your arm whole,
Yet once they all leave,
There's nothing I could achieve.
Does it make sense
To desire a picket fence
While being picky
And falsely calling all tricky
The hunger of a crow, wanting connection yet pushing everyone out before they leave
Do you know the difference
between alone and lonely?
I love being alone
walking among trees
wading in the water on the seashore
listening to the silence of the night
smelling the roses in my garden
I am not lonely then, and
I can be alone
I am lonely when
no one asks
how I am doing
no one asks
is there anything I can do
no one calls
just to talk about nothing
The precise difference between peaceful solitude and the lonely truth that no one calls
No words to leave on paper,
No sounds behind a window,
No stranger passing by.
I have what I've got.
Sound proof glass,
Unknown eyes staring right at me.
I can do nothing just lay down
Listening to my silent heartbeat.
I want to hug a person,
But nobody is really here.
I want to feel somebody here,
But no real eyes are looking through me.
I see nothing and everything,
I feel everything and nothing.
Feel like not sleeping tonight,
And once again going to the world of my own.
Captures the ache of wanting to hug someone when nobody is really there
there are 24 hours per a day ,
over a million people in the world .
but how can no one ever ask me
" are you okay ? "
The raw ache of a million people and no one asking if you're okay
and now
im in the phase again
where i cant talk to anyone
because theyre all unwell themselves
and i only have myself
pretending to be fine
The quiet isolation of having only yourself and pretending to be fine
No one notices your pain
No one cares how you feel
No one wants to stay by your side
No one
Not until they see the scars
The ones you cut into your skin
Weather it was to get rid of the pain inside
Or to get someone to start caring
Either way you did it
And all of a sudden your old friends
Become new friends
They try to comfort you
But it's out of pity
They see you as a pitiful, weak, sad little thing
And in some cases a toy
Feeling unseen until pain becomes visible, then met only with pity
I wish you would realize,
That I'm so alone,
Its amazing I'm still alive.
I always thought that our
Endless paragraphs would last forever,
But then I came across a full stop.
How is it that I let you in so far?
That everytime I hear my phone,
I'm broken even more because it not you.
God know how much it hurts.
I'm a fool for thinking it will change,
That we'll grow back to our old ways.
So I wrote this for you.
And I hope it finds you well.
Because what i truly want to say is
I'm scared.
The ache of reaching for a phone that no longer brings the person you need
a long call
and the sudden nothing after
alone in bed
The hollow silence after a call ends, alone in bed with no one left
I can feel those fingers,
Long and bony.
This is just my imagination.
I'm still lonely.
I can feel the madness
Of being alone.
My voice inside
Is losing every tone.
Madness of isolation, where the inner voice fades and loneliness stays
Mental illness, stigmatized, discriminated.
You try to find help.
Scream too loud, you're call an attention seeker.
Keeping all inside.
You're scold for, "keeping it all inside".
Tell them what you feel, they said.
Don't over-think.
Don't over-react.
Stop being weak.
Improve your strength.
Pray, ask God for help. They say.
Have I not ask God for help enough?
Sometimes, All i want is.
Someone who would listen.
Lend your ears.
Give me your hug.
A plea for someone to just listen, hug, and sit beside you without judgment
shouting into an abyss
with no answers
no echos
every sound is swallowed
by this silent vacuum of time
i can't even hear my own voice
yet i still try to make contact
with someone
with something
Shouting into an abyss where no echo returns, the exact shape of having no one to call
I feel my own sadness,
I cry alone,
I wipe my own tears,
I make myself happy,
I go through everything all by myself,
Don't you dare to help me,
If you can't.
Crying and wiping your own tears alone, self-sufficiency that is really unspoken loneliness
I ask for you to help,
But you laugh.
And I feel lost.
I whisper for you to help,
But you continues to walk away.
And I cry.
I beg you to help
But You call me a disgrace,
For wasting your time
And I am dead.
Begging for help from someone who laughs and walks away, rejection deepening the void
While everyone else smiled I cried
Listening to my heart beat as I died
Now I feel nothing
Speak nothing
Hear nothing but the sound in my head
To others it's nothing
To my peers it's the demon speaking
The sound which I yearn for
Yet find so unbearable
Making me do things unthinkable
It's the sound of loneliness
The only sound I've ever heard
The only sound that listens and hears at the same time but never speaks.
Loneliness as the only voice in your head that listens but never answers back
At the opera
I was hit with a type of sadness I haven't felt in a long time.
It was awful.
I ate
And ate
After feeling okay for a while.
On the way back
I found myself alone in a single seat at the far end of the bus.
I spent the hour drive turned around, looking out the mud-caked window.
I waved at all the people behind us when the brake lights illuminated their faces with a glowing red light.
I didn't get one response.
Maybe they didn't see me in the dark.
Or maybe they didn't care.
As we traveled down the highway, the streetlights were all burned out.
Headlights of people that followed the bus for several miles faded in the distance.
It was like losing friends in a way.
Alone on a night bus, waving at strangers' faces, longing for any flicker of connection
I send SMS to you:
How long I do not see you...
How long I do not meet you...
And I expect, expect for your answer
Mobile tinkle ...messages come
I see with eagerness, see messages:
Ad of songs, or radio, or lottery
Or matrimony.com with special discount
I feel sorrow.
You like to ramble in shopping mall
You like to suck ice-cream
Sitting on the stairs of Rabindra Sada Auditorium
You like to gossiped
Sometimes you like to sit silently
On the chair of Esplanade Metro station
To hear songs on mobile phone
Waiting for a message that never comes, checking every ping and finding only ads instead
I'm fragile.
I don't talk much
No; not at all even
People don't want to figure me out
All I want is a boyfriend
Someone to love me
Someone to curl up with in bed, under all the covers
Watching stupid movies
And kissing.
But wait;
I don't deserve this.
The fear that no one wants to figure you out, wanting someone to hold but feeling undeserving
More than i expect i would.
Each day i pray that you
Will call or write,and
When i do hear your voice
Or see your familiar handwriting
I am again alive
The way i was before you left
I never thought I'd be so lost, not knowing what to do with myself,
Who to call at night,
Who to make weekend plans with.
I miss your shy eyes and constant blush
The way someone misses shelter
When caught in a storm.
The ache of asking who to call at night when the one person you reached for is gone
I don't see no one to talk to
No one to share my thoughts
No one to love or just hang with
I hear no one around
I don't know anyone from here
The only thing I hear is sounds from the waves on the water
Animals making noises
Vehicles passing by on the highway
It is like this place
These people are strangers to me
But who knows I just might be a stranger to myself
Sometimes I feel like I am invincible to the whole wide world
Even if I had someone to talk to
I probably stay to myself
I am afraid to tell anyone of how I really feel about myself
I feel like I am invincible
Seeing no one to talk to, surrounded only by waves and strangers, even stranger to yourself
Why do I feel so numb and distant?
Why does no one notice or care?
Why? Am I a burden to you all.
Just don't turn to me when I'm the only one you have to call
The raw question of why no one notices or cares, yet still being the one everyone calls
Does anyone ever have that deep feeling
when you sitting alone or with I big group of friends?
That feeling of total despair
the feeling of being alone
And that everyone is talking over you
So you just stare into space
or be super quiet
because you think "what's the point"
And then when you go home at the end of the day
and you want to cry because that feeling doesn't leave
And so when you try to cry you can't
even though your eyes are stinging and are red
You just don't feel a thing
to me that is the worst feeling
Naming the hollow ache of being alone even among friends, when no one hears you
Loneliness comes over you in the strangest of all moments
It takes just a song
A song that overwhealms you with this strange feeling
And you keep listening to it
Again and again
But that feeling lasts
It has its claws deep in your heart
And suddenly you start crying
Eventhough you don't really know why
So here I sit
Crying
Unable to understand why
Hoping that feeling will go away
But it doesn't
It stays with me
Stays with me like an unwelcome companion
Loneliness arriving uninvited with a song, claws in the heart, crying with no one near
Cold and dark,
Surrounded by silence,
My eyes wander,
Heart’s pounding,
A whisper in the distance,
My ears perk,
Desperate for a sound,
For an interaction,
My eyes close tightly,
Concentrating on nothing,
Hoping for signs of life,
Hoping for something,
The whisper begins to fade,
As my mouth shuts,
No longer feeling the need to speak,
To deny myself of reality,
A mind pacing silent streets, desperate for any voice, imprisoned by its own silence
you don't call
I'm half without other half
raw where you tore off
the telephone cord umbilical
hangs lifeless
no voice sings furry
humour
that thing's a corpse
vibrates no meanings
it just hangs there
A phone that never rings, the severed cord left hanging lifeless where a voice once was
i can't vent to anyone
because they will feel bad
so i just have to bottle it up
i just want a human to love me like i love them
Bottling up the ache because there is no one to vent to, longing to be loved back
A few days before the new year 2022,
I haven’t felt anything FUN this year,
Not much has changed, I haven’t felt anything.
NOTHING
No one saw me,
No one talked to me,
No one met me,
No one hear me,
No one love me,
No one wants me, not even myself.
Maybe I just grew up a little bit,
Depressed about death and
Ended up loving someone who didn’t exist
Or
Someone who didn’t know I existed, again.
The raw litany of 'no one saw me, no one talked to me' mirrors feeling invisible and unreachable
Why?
Why does everyone do it?
Are they trying to get back at me?
Did I do something wrong?
I try to plan events with you,
But it’s either you or your mom.
Who says, “No.”
Who says, “I’m sorry.”
You always say, “Let’s try next weekend.”
But does it happen?
No.
Something always comes up.
Then I’m alone.
I like being alone but…
Sometimes I need someone else there.
With me.
The endless 'let's try next weekend' rejections and nights alone echo having no one to call
I remember calling
Once
Hearing your voice was my favorite sound
Like birds singing at 5 am;
A true blessing.
You were busy, so I said I'd call later.
And so i did, and you were still
Busy.
I told you to call me when you're not
And you said okay.
Look at me.
Its been hours and its almost 5 am.
The birds sing, and
I realize your voice is much more
Than this.
You don't need this, do you?
Waiting at 5 am for a call that never comes distills the ache of reaching out to silence
