The Veil

When we are young A veil is placed In front of our eyes Shielding us, From the Dangers And horrors In the real world. Thats why children are Happy Careless Naive But eventually, They get more serious, Some get stressed And others depressed

if's and why's

if love is a state of mind, why does it hurt your heart? if fear is just adrenaline, why do we sense trouble if i am just a mass of cells, why do i need emotions

A haiku for November end

Coarse November ends: chapped, brittle and crumbling away, Baring the earth's jaws.

Truth

my lungs spread their wings to catch the updraft of my breath the warmth of my breath brushes my lips my tongue curves around the warm soft words painting them with careful strokes i love you my tongue is leaden it shapes the words into existence polishing them into a semblance of truth the molten lie drips from my lips burning my mouth i hate you my tongue smooths these new words gently shading them to life i'm sorry and this time my face mirrors what my mouth shapes i am truly sorry

Time

The earth is a clock. Their clock. I watch their eyes drop, like their shoulders. Unwilling to hold up the weight of the ticking clock anymore. Frost begins to play with their features. They are crumbling under the heavy hands of the clock. Asit dictates beginnings and endings. All they want is more time. But their clock can't make exceptions. It just presses on. Cold. Heavy. Infinite, perhaps. No one knows for sure where the clock began. No one knows where it will end.

Captured

Life is like a cage, and everything you love is holding the key. When you trap yourself inside, What will help you out? You are what you love, Not who loves you. The people who want you out, Aren't the people holding the key.

The Brightest Star

Star shining bright Turquoise light Glimmering, Shimmering, In the night. The dark black sky Draws my eye, To you, from you, To a plane passing by. But I still notice you, O king of the heavens, Your faint light aiding me In my quest To find my one true self, My heart, To know myself at my best. Help me find that which others see,

* * *

Black The color of depression weaving its dark tendrils into you life. Purple The color of the bruises they give you because you are different than they. Red the color of the blood as you try to end it here & now. White The color of the light shining on you as you get your final wish.

The Magic of Moonlight

Moonlight has this special abillity to wash away blemishes, imperfections, leaving you stripped, bare, naked; with nothing but the pure thruth: the truth of your heart

Susan Sarandon Said

Except that soon he won't be What's that Boo? I said It was breakfast, a messy rush into the day. Coco-pops for her and coffee for me "That's a dinosaur Dad, a dinosaur called Happy" Oh yeah, I said, what's he doing on your paper there "Well, he went to the pool Dad, to have a drink, because he's thirsty" "He's the colored up one... wait Dad, I have to do the dinosaur stomp" So she did, a little two step-half-step stomp around the kitchen, While I realized I'd forgotten to email the office about that thing What about those, I said "Those? Those are teeny tiny feet Dad, because there's not much space on the page" And that, what's that, I said, checking the phone for the meeting time, Is that a tree
