Old Mind

Dogs run loose while the fall leaves burn. A man stares from open window.Timeless time passes. Stick and ball games. Progress buries yesterday. The old mind gathers itself for a final time. Rejoin where it left off w/ enough energy to feel every beat and drum. Transport into the field of autumn color. Float overhead to face oncoming beast. Age that shaves away lash of the clock's tick.

nothing

I don't feel what they feel. I don't comprehend the feelings. Why does this make you feel this way? I don't see the point. I don't understand the interest. Maybe I'm the anomaly, But I will never understand.

Poem #10: Stranger

Somehow, Just somehow, Telling my secrets to you, A stranger, A complete stranger, Is gratifying, Telling my worries to you, A stranger, A complete stranger, Calms them, Somehow confiding in you, A stranger, A complete stranger, Makes it hurt less

Poem #24: Love

Love? What is love? It’s not a thing, Not a feeling, It’s not physical, Not mental, It’s not permanent, Not temporary, Love? What is love?

Poem #20: Happy

When was the last time I was happy, Really truly happy, I can’t think of a time, Is that sad? Is it bad? I’m content I guess But not happy Never happy What is happy?

The Silent Listener

Everyone needs to be heard At least once. Everyone needs to say their mind At least once. Everyone needs to stop and listen At least once. Everyone needs to sit in silence At least once. You're heard All the time. You say what comes to mind All the time. She sits in front of you All the time. She always listens And never says a word.

Trivial

Time One and two Three and six Five and ten. Nothing happens, For nothing changes And no one bothers to try Not once since that day. Am I trapped Or frozen? Am I stuck Or caught by destiny? Time. Move along Or be left behind, So which am I?
