Buthelezi's short poem is about the rush of being completely taken by another person. The speaker addresses someone, "you," and compares them to sugar: sweet, addictive, and hard to do without. What affects the speaker most is not the person's looks or touch but what they say. Every time the speaker takes in those words, adrenaline floods the body, so the feeling is physical as well as emotional.
The second half turns into a quiet wish. The speaker hopes this feeling never fades and describes it as being "stuck in a time loop," a moment that keeps replaying. Usually being stuck sounds like a bad thing, but here it is something the speaker wants. The mood is warm, giddy and a little anxious, since the hope that it won't stop hints at a fear that it might. The trailing dots after "like this" make the speaker sound breathless, as if still caught up in the feeling while writing.
