Questions is about the ache that follows when a close friendship ends, or at least goes silent. The speaker doesn't seem sure what the relationship was. "Were we friends? More than friends?" sets up that uncertainty right away, and the poem never settles it. Instead, it keeps circling back with more questions: what makes a best friend, whether the bond was real, whether the other person was honest.
The feelings are mixed. There is longing ("I miss you like crazy"), a little jealousy of people who still have their best friends, and some hurt that shows up as distrust. The speaker admits to trust issues and even wonders if the whole thing was fake. Memories they believed were gone turn out to be buried deep inside them, and they feel foolish about that.
The mood is raw, vulnerable and unresolved. The short, plain lines read like thoughts spilling out without polish. The poem ends with a question rather than an answer, leaving the speaker hopeful but afraid that things can never be the same.
