Someone who feels lost speaks here, and what they want most is to be told who they are. The speaker begs to be defined, and the word "please" makes the request sound small and a little desperate. They don't even care how it happens: "it doesn't matter what you say or how you do it." That openness is telling. The speaker is ready to accept almost any label or answer from anyone, just to escape the blankness they're in.

The title and the tag beneath it add another layer. An "ancient artifact" is an object whose meaning has to be worked out by others, and "Lost" suggests it has drifted away from its purpose. The speaker seems to see themselves that way, as something old and unexplained waiting for someone to interpret it. The short lines and lowercase letters make the voice feel quiet and exposed. The mood is vulnerable and weary, but there is a thread of hope too, since the speaker is still asking for help rather than giving up.
