Dear Parker,

You know, I've never met anyone like you. We're supposed to be grown up- (My family constantly reminds me that I'm anything but) But you chose to stay young. Why? What about your youth was so kind to you? Was it your parents, Singing you your song? Or was it something else? Did you have a friend tell you Why they wanted to grow up, And you decided it wasn't worth it? What the hell is going on in your mind When I see you staring at the table like that? Are you remembering something you love? Are you having a mental conversation with Your 'ideal friend?' I'm sure that there's something. You can't just be thinking nothing. Please, just answer when I ask that question. I promise you I wasn't lying, When I told you no one else had ever interested me like you do. You wanna know how really curious I am? I bet you don't, But I'll answer anyways: If I had to choose, Between saving an old friend, Or saving you, I'd choose you. Over and over And over again. Because I like the way talking to you makes me feel. I like how it makes me think about what I'm going to say, Cause we're so different, That I could say something wrong. I could say the wrong thing, And not even know it. And you'd be gone. You know how I know this? Because it's happened before. That's why I'm not even going to show you this poem- It'll freak you out so much, you'll give me that look, The look that no matter who it's from, Gives me a panic attack. So please. Hang on.
