my heart doesn't thrum but rather is weighed down it doesn't race but it beats heavily like an untamed thing against a newly formed cage it wants to be free yet it cannot find the sanity nor strength to do so it's been there so long the cage is familiar yet still unsafe so it keeps hitting its walls again again again until it can no longer stand or think to fight
