Twilight

You walk by night, Graced by the moon and bathed in starlight, As though allergic to the sun, As though your beauty is hidden in daylight. In the softness of the moons lantern, Eloquence and mystery springs forth from within. Seeking console in the night, Too much is exposed in the suns light, When darkness meets darkness the sun cannot fight, And you and I will remember when the time is right. Our days spent together, Will take off in flight. They are bound where our memories lie, Hopefully we can reach them before we die. And I will remain in the harsh suns rays, Tortured by over exposure and endless days, As weary as I grow, our god of shadow says, Death claims all and will consume us, like the wrath of decay. Maybe after our hours waiting, When dawn fades to dusk, We can meet again in the fleetting moments twilight, Just our memories and us.
