Numb isn't my Friend

It's amazing how alone you can feel in a sea of people Knowing that they don't understand Watching them smile And wondering How many of them are faking their smiles How many of them understand The darkness seeping inside of me It's amazing how numb a person can feel And how they can accept it Because they just want the pain to end But then they want the pain back The numb scares them Once you're numb you can never go back They don't know that They try to fight the numbness in any way they can Suddenly they realize what hundreds know You can't fight the numb You can only accept it Even though they realize this They still wear themselves down And when it's time for the real fight They give up Then they die Not only on the inside But on the outside also Never saying goodbye Because If they made you feel this way Do they deserve a goodbye?
