Dave Bonta's "Closeted" is a very short poem about feeling hidden away and held back by desire. The speaker pictures themselves "shut up in my little closet," a cramped, private space that suggests secrecy or hiding, though the poem never says exactly what is being hidden. Then the images become fragmentary: "a wing," "your desiring mouth." A wing suggests flight and freedom, yet it appears here without a body, as if it is something the speaker can't fully use.

The last two lines carry the main feeling. Someone else's desire makes the speaker "stand so much" that they are "ashamed to dance." Standing seems to mean being stiff, aroused, or simply frozen, and the shame gets in the way of moving freely. The mood is tense and a little embarrassed, but also charged. The speaker wants to move and can't, caught between longing and self-consciousness.
