see how people other others
as the news guns gun for our kindness
as if they would buy time
by the help of a watchmaker
I bit into a kind word
there had been nothing to dine on in the house
and it was a treat
the great dark ink of it
the lament of men that lie in the streets
some cursing
some praying
hot words locked up
the key is kindness
but close by a corpse I am come
almost to think nothing of it
I give thanks for love
and lasting kindness
and how much we drink and stink
mouth to mouth,
my wife, a bottle and I.
A quaint command:
think of kindness, thank for kindness.
After supper, good music and bed.
Strew the streets with herbs for joy of going.
Never pray for happiness as long as the sun
and moon endure.
I'm glad you didn't make a disgusted sound
When she asked if we were dating,
Cause that would have really broke my heart
And I'm not sure I'd be able to talk to you if you did.
Thanks for taking it in stride,
And even adding to my joke about why I'd be a bad partner.
(I think puppies are cute,
So thanks for making me feel adorable)
Thanks for starting that conversation in 3rd,
Cause my mind was running,
Tryna find a fault in how I answered her.
I'm really happy you're my best bud.
I'd love to be more,
But I'll wait until you're ready.
I'd never force you into anything,
So you can make me wait forever.
i offer you my kindness
for nothing but a promise
promise that just like mine,
your back is there to lean on
promise that just like mine,
your shoulder is there to cry on
promise that just like i,
you will listen to the pain
for my kindness
it has been abused
for my kindness
it has been taken for granted
for my kindness
it has been used
i promise you my kindness,
please promise the same.
how do you tell the people who love you that their
encouraging words and
breakfast pancakes and
shoulder brushes and
wheezing laughter and
random dance parties and
their all around basic
goodness
is tightening the noose around your throat
until moving the slightest inch
could be your downfall
There is kindness in the air today.
Sunlight bright, yet soft;
Wind strong, yet breezy;
Earth alive, yet sleepy.
There is grace in the air today.
In the shade and light
Trees sparkle and dance
Crows muse, sitting on the posts.
There is music in the air today.
The chorus of the leaves
As the wind blows through them
In rhythmic waves of love.
Through the window, across the trees
Over the high rise, the sky is blue
In unseen strings suspended,
Kites hover; swift fly past Swifts.
Eyes closed, I lie on my back
Following their arms mentally
As the masseurs run their fingers
Pressing, squeezing, rubbing in
The warm oil all over me.
From the sole of my feet, up
Through the ankles, calves, knees
And thighs, passing deftly
My privates and up to the torso
My hairy, broad chest, shoulders
And the nape of my neck.
The loincloth barely leaves me clothed.
As the masseur's fingers and then the pouch
Filled with medicinal leaves soaked in starchy fluid
Spread warmth all over me,
I wonder if I might get an erection;
Cecile walked
Everywhere, everyday.
Absorbed in her own world.
She walks.
As usual, Cecile was walking
On her way to school
She gazed at the swirling silvers and golds overhead.
She walks
Whistling to her own tune.
What was she thinking of?
As days passed
Holidays growing closer
Bakeries baking ginger treats
The festive scents filling the air
The lights glimmered
Twinkled
You see the smile
You see the tear
But not the anger
And not the fear
The milk's been spilt
The fish has died
But yet you ask
If I'm alright
You offer me a helping hand
A shoulder here for leaning
But sadly you do not realise
That I don't really want it
To know how I truly feel
A mile has to be completed
In my size 8 flip-flops
When you have size 9 feet
