My train of thought never did stay on track
Always off happily lost on the sides
Where I would never bother to bring it back
The world is much bigger than one train ride.
Everyone called it my "tragedy"
And now it is changing in shape and form
Because you started a true calamity
You, a little heart thief I should scorn.
Now you're the only sidetrack for the train
Clearly a train crash waiting to happen
But regardless of my protesting brain
Wheels turn and hot coals still won't dampen;
The train keeps moving, steam puffing above
Chugga-chugga choo-choo! Falling in love.
Why when you love
It sticks and pokes
Prods and chokes
Stripping me bare
My very essence gone
Unrecognizable to me
And leaving me wondering
"Is this how love's supposed to be?"
Fill this man with dulled gold,
Pry his riches of vocality from his lips.
Feel his heartbeat as it rises and dips,
The groan from him as the room grows cold.
He misses the hair she had.
He misses the kisses of passion.
He longed till he grew sad.
Then he marred himself in grotesque fashion.
Let her flee,
Root like a tree.
Scream into the abyss,
About what you miss.
Branches rot,
Roots get eaten,
By the ground you get caught;
By her: you are beaten.
A brilliant smile,
To waste a while;
Staring at the sky
Wishing I could fly.
I stretch out my hand,
Take a deep breath, and
Think of the wonderful
Things I've done. Powerful
Plays, astonishing acting.
Despite my detracting.
I've loved, so much.
Not right, exit stage left.
I've never started off
With the correct foot.
Who would've known a cough
Would make it all the worse?
Who knew this virus would put
Us in this precarious situation?
But I've brought ruination
To a love. I'm a curse.
I don't know exactly what
Happened to cause this distance
Between you and I, but
I know at every instance
Of your words and your face,
Make me an emotional disgrace.
If things shall go no farther,
Tell me, I think I deserve that much.
Lovers lay untainted,
The innocence elates.
Starlight gleams between their fingers,
Embraced beneath the night.
A moment to be captured,
Like fireflies in the skies.
Never wanting to escape,
The moment lingers long.
The dew upon the grass,
Simplicity of mornings.
Get lost in me forever,
Run away my love once more.
I've spent most my life
Looking for someone
Always believing
I found them
Only to figure out
I was wrong again
I start asking myself
Is it worth it
Is it worth having
My heartbroken so much
Is it worth losing
Everything I ever cared for
Is it worth feeling all the pain I've felt
I always say
The same things
When I find that single person
I have always been scared,
To fall in love.
I have always been scared,
To lose someone I love.
The thing you don't see,
Is what is inside of me.
The part of me,
That wants to be free.
I always knew,
Not to let it out.
Because there would,
Always be doubts.
I am always terrified,
Of my life.
I need someone,
To show me the right.
I love the way you look at me,
But i know the way i look at you
When you aren't aware
of my admiration.
So if it was possible to see
the way you look at me
In those time i don't see
I'd love that even more.
Are the summers getting colder?
For winter's chill is in this place,
Or is it that we are getting older,
You have that winter's look upon your face,
My love.
Once we had our love to keep us warm,
In the open air , under a starry sky,
Even through a thunderstorm,
When you thought we would die,
My love, My love.
If we still had our strength and vigour,
How we would make the bells chime,
Then you had a lovely figure,
Do you think we could, just one more time?
My love, My love, My love.
Variation on a familiar theme
And the sun stretched forth his orange-yellow
hand, and groomed the city streets, and
followed the country roads, and even scanned
the island retreats for the slender hand he so
longed to hold; and finding none of his
desired worth strolling through the day,
He reclined - to reflect on Cabernet, and
determined to assign his son the task;
the son, who with his father’s borrowed light
patrols the undeserted streets at night;
And through the dank alleyways of beer-glass broken gutters,
his pale arm crept softly over our simple heads, and
under concrete bridges and over cardboard beds,
in over-populated three-in-the-morning bars, and
If we were a storm,
you'd be thunder
and I'd be lightning.
When it rains we'll always be close to each other.
You can see me and I can hear you.
When it's raining at two fourty six in the morning,
you wake up because of the sound of rain and out of nowhere,
your room lights up from your
window.
Just for that brief moment,
you are surrounded by me.
Moments later I hear thunder crack
and I know it's you proclaiming your love for me.
You're my thunder and I'm your lightning.
