* * *

i recall fearing about when a girl would soon capture you're heart. so that i couldn't reach it ever again. it was so difficult to not tell you that. "should i tell him?" i constantly asked myself everyday i was dropped back home. it clouded my head like fog on a street. just everywhere. until you spoke to me about it. and how , "that's never going to happen."

Mirror

Mirror, Mirror, I see you. Mirror, Mirror, But you look right through. Mirror, Mirror, I know you're there. Mirror, Mirror, There's darkness in the air.

One Step

One step closer. Nobody would care, Nobody knows her. A light you can't see. No one knows her but me, As long as knowing yourself counts. The roads are long. They lead to nowhere, So I guess it's a good thing I don't know where I'm going. The bridge was high, And the water deep. Just one more step...

Judges

Aren't you afraid? Of the judgmental people... With staring eyes And silent thoughts That soon become whispers Voices of hush Words of verdict That you'll never hear Leave you curious

Memory is triangular Like frames that melt in flames We burn to fight a cold, cold winter. Night brings strange insects Feeds her anxiety Moths plan a mass suicide Inside her mind. The windows are blur. The humming pine winds set the score The rain was always a part of the plan. Until a coal truck slides and falls over As she finally flies. (And all our love- Hate games Unread letters, And scores Settled

I'm Sick Of It

I'm sick of it. That voice inside my head Whispering insecurities Strangling me with tears and silent cries that I refuse to let out For fear of being weak I didn't make a sound And when I did It almost killed me! That voice inside my head It makes a valid case It backs it up It listens to other people It brings their testimonies to the trial But they're not under oath The truth is the witnesses are ciminals that just want to look les guilty But that doesn't matter

Stranger

I tied it up and heaved it onto the grooved bed of a maroon Ford pickup, hit the gas and roared into the gleaming night. The night roared back or so I thought with oblique animal rage twisting moonlight into words and words into near-miss car collisions. I think it is mad at me because I forgot to remove my bullet from that stranger’s shoulder

i shouldn't.

i should be use to this. i should be use to the stamped. i should be use to the giggling. i should be use to the kisses and hugs. i should be use to the happiness and joy. but since i have not felt them in so long it feels foreign. it shouldn't. but it does. and even though i do have the love now that I've wanted for long, i just can't help but feel that it's all fake. that it'll go away when i least expect it. i shouldn't feel this way, but i do. i do, i do, i do. maybe I'm just being paranoid. but maybe i'm, just maybe I'm right.

Insomnia

Through the summer night Soft noises flutter about. The moon shines against the night sky And into her room. She stared blankly at the ceiling as Images and pointless thoughts consumed her mind in Merciless torture. Her nights have been like this For as long as she could remember... She just wishes she could sleep without the Aid of a drug, or a Natural suppliment....

NAIVE

I'm lost in space I'm locked in a box I can't open up my mind It's just hard for me to see reality I have a soft heart I'm innocent as a child can be My face is full of questions "Am I being right, am I being wrong?" Dirty, but not pure Pure, but not dirty How can I choose between the two? I'm tired of thinking innocently I'm so naive I don't even know people are like this I'm too young for this I can't take it no more

Lights Off

As a child, I was scared, I was stupid, And I only thought about myself. I always played fun games as a child, Like watch TV, Draw or color, Or play outside. When it got dark outside, I couldn't take a step out of indoors. I went into my cold bed, And my parents tucked me in. They turned off the lights, Except one tiny light, Which I never turned away from. I didn't like the dark.
