I am learning, to be okay
When people walk away
Accepting, they have a part to play
And not everyone's meant to stay
I am learning, to walk alone
And not seek comfort in their embrace
To speak off my thoughts freely
And to accept rejection with grace
I am learning,to hold back
And not put my heart out to be played
For they would have made the effort
If it meant more than they displayed
I am still learning, how to love properly
Cause people have some twisted ways
Realizing it's not all its made out to be
Love often ends in disappointments and heartbreaks.
How is it that you know me?
So well?
You know when I’m happy.
You know when I’m hurting.
You know when I’m angry.
You can tell just by looking at me.
How do you see?
See past my walls?
I built them strong.
Unbreakable, or close enough.
Not see-through.
You seem to just pass through them.
Like they aren’t there.
I can talk to you about anything.
You seem to just sidestep the walls.
Like everyone’s trying to figure,
I lit candles on a wintry night
And revelled in its soft glow.
As it's vanilla aroma slowly diffused,
I slipped under covers,
And began to snore.
A rose with
a golden almost
orange like hue.
Is it bronze?
A bronze-hued rose
with leaves of soft and
fuzzy green.
Lime, right?
A bronze-hued, lime leafed
rose that little bugs
and birds drink from.
Bees and butterflies, correct?
A bronze-hued, lime leafed
bee haven rose.
A rose that hasn't
been picked.
find me in the Rhododendron
i'm hiding in the Rhododendron
beneath the pink shroud
outside is much too loud
for me
sheathed by the color of hope
i watch from the Rhododendron
Another thought
Another intention
But
It's mine
Mine
Mine alone
Someday maybe
It could be shared
But not today
It'll stay
A written thought
A silent thank you
The force of it burning
Burning with what
Something inexpressible
Neither the words nor the courage
It is interesting,
the ways we learn
Liquid gold spread in gloops across the sky
Backed by the palest of blue white
Or the deepest of blue black
Reds, oranges, magenta and purple
A dance of flames on the horizon
A quite slip into the night, suddenly the stars are there
Aren't they wonderous
Rain clouds
Thunderstorms
Grey to dark smoke
Cool wind
Peace
A glowing orb of orange
That feels like a blinding secret trusted just to me
She sits in the garden
Blooming and bursting
Under a flowered arbor
Weeping over a single wilted rose
He sits in a room of white
Pure and perfect
Empty eyes staring close-range
At a lonely black smudge
We look at our lives
At the portion we've lived
And ignore the coming joy
Only able to see the sorrow
If we lift our eyes
There's reason to smile
If we back away from the wall ahead
We see how to walk around it
I feel a little vulnerable
Showing this to you
Showing you a part of myself that I thought I left behind
But bad habits die hard
And sometimes slipping back into them is inevitable for me
Somethings like smoke curls around my brain
Saying you'll stare at me different
Like I'm wrong and disgusting and you'll leave
Something with a voice like thorns yells in my ear
Reminding me to never show my soft spots after years of hardening my skin
Something with a calm and soothing mind protects my heart
Reminding me that people worry out of love and will stick with me if they are true
I feel a little vulnerable
Telling all of this to you
Sitting at home,
Finally there to stay;
Quiet, alone,
Reminiscing about today.
Contentedly I sigh
Watching the last moon's rays,
And I wonder why...
I'm melancholy about today.
Wearily I go to bed,
And silently I lay;
Having dreams within my head,
Remembering today.
All I have is words-
Flying away as of birds,
Spoken to the wind;
Muttered again and again,
Brushed passed in a river,
Flowing away forever;
Receding through the sea;
Whipped away and flying free!
Dissipating as of mist...
The memory of a kiss...
All I have is words,
But if you want them, they're yours.
