Thank You — Summary

Dear Water,

Thank you for being more than just a substance composed of chemical elements. Thank you for quenching my body's thirst for you everyday with no effort. Thank for rolling down my cheeks, carrying my emotional baggage whenever i can no longer carry it. Thank you for being a great conductor of sound when everything around me is silent. Thank you for teaching me that even though it's barricated, I can still get to the other side through the cracks.

Thank You.

Written as a thank-you note addressed to water, the poem treats something ordinary as a close companion. The speaker begins by saying water is "more than" its chemical makeup, and each line after that adds another way it matters: it quenches thirst without being asked, it becomes tears when feeling gets too heavy, and it carries sound when the world goes quiet.

The tone is warm, humble and quietly grateful. The speaker seems to lean on water in lonely or difficult moments, and the idea of tears carrying "emotional baggage" suggests crying brings real relief. The last lesson is the most hopeful. Water, even when blocked by a barrier, finds its way through the cracks, and the speaker takes this as a model for getting past obstacles in their own life. The mood is gentle and reflective, with a steady sense of comfort and resilience beneath the simple, direct language.

Do you know??

Do you know what it feels like? To have death stalk your thoughts and follow you more than your own shadow? to have it haunt you as if everyday is halloween night?

Water

Whenever i see you cry, I'm reminded that a bit too much of something is not good for you. I'm reminded of waves, and how, like people they have the ability to bring joy

Fertiliser

When i met you, you were barely surviving. a brown and scappy flower, with crispy leaves is what you were.
