In My Darkest of Times
I feel the stress build As I keep pushing on But as my heart begins to clench I sometimes feel like there is no chance of return As I lose myself in the dark I feel my soul leaves me for the light I keep pushing forward into the endless abyss With no hope of return. I lose what makes me me I become someone I am not All I can do is wait there in the dark alone cold but then a light shows a being of kind and loving light Not a god or angel But a living being Someone close to my heart as they hold out their hand i feel my soul and heart return and what I lost comes back and the light that saved me now guides me everyday Now the questions shall rise what caused such pain It would be hard to understand they say let us try But when I do I am told im dramatic What is it you ask? Fear and sadness Anger and Pain All of which are good names But the real terms we must use Is just old news Anxiety and depression It causes my regression From my true self And the one who brought me back Who saved me from fate Is one whom loves me. With all their heart. The cycle repeats But it does not bother me For I know that light will shine in my darkest of times.
