things that don't bite

PuppyAnxious

the things in this world that don't tend to bite seem to be the things that scare me the most

esqueleto underneath the tulle and royal blue a soft beat of drums, eighths between breaths the silence underneath all the blaring sounds so far away in the warmth of cold night's winds this feeling i'm holding onto your arm for dear life and a taste of candy peach envelopes my tongue nothing will bite me, nothing will hurt me tonight saccharine lips that promise i'll be okay tonight cinnamon lips that you say will never hurt me

i will breathe tonight, no tears will be cried i want to trust the things that don't bite me

I wrote this poem after prom night. It was my senior prom, and I went with my boyfriend (who's mentioned in previous poems). It was an amazing night, and I wrote this poem about letting myself trust that he doesn't want to hurt me.
