I searched you in so many men but you never were there.
A cry in the night
A pain in the heart
The need in your eyes
An empty space
A memory of you
I miss you so
But you won't know
You'll never see
What you've done to me
The yells and screams
The scars I made
The ache in my chest
The nightmares replayed
The public tears
The pitiful looks
They don't understand
Help.
Such a simple word,
A simple action to ask of another.
But if it is so simple,
Why is it so hard to ask?
Am I afraid to let myself be vulnerable?
To open up my happy exterior,
To show the darkness that lies beneath the surface,
That swirling chaos that threatens to consume me?
Or is it because of the happy exterior that I keep it in?
For others are suffering their own problems,
Surely I shouldn't burden them with mine as well.
I'm the strong one,
The one that listens and helps when others need it.
So I think that I cannot ask for help.
When all others need someone to lean on,
Suicide.
Such a simple word
To hold so much power.
All my life I have suffered to have these thoughts
Every.
Single.
Day.
But through it all I push myself saying
Be strong, many people love you
You can get through this day and the next.
And it worked for a time
But then I found a new purpose in my fight.
Help others
Some friends started to self harm
To think about suicide
I was their rock, the one that pushed them to stay strong and in doing so
Not my fault.
I say.
Not my mind .
They say.
No matter of how many. Things I keep thinking of one thing, or one memory keeps coming back to me.
It may happened before, and now I am replaying it in my head . where I am laying on a cold floor.
No sounds no air. Just a floor , so that I would my self compare. To what?
To nothingness.
To space.
To me.
And to nobody.
People would step on me thinking I might be the new art, the new side walk.
My knees would shake as before, I would still think over and over about the same thing , and the same perosn.
My heart isn't attached , but my mind is.
Wishing I could erase it, and start all over again.
I like you, he said,
You shouldn't, I answered.
We were children no older than ten.
His heart I crushed,
His feelings I trampled.
He confessed to me under the tree, I said.
Together I pointed and laughed with the others.
My heart broke.
I'm sorry,
Words I never spoke.
Now he sits before me a man.
How he's grown,
My heart aches... How I yearn for him.
I'm sorry...I still can't say it.
Looking at him hurts,
Thinking of him pains even more.
It must hurt to know
I am your most beautiful regret
But you wouldn't realize that
Cause I am a museum full of art
The landscape of your favorite place
But you always have your eyes shut
I didn't leave because
I stopped loving you
Or even never did
I left because
I couldn't bear the thought of you not loving me
When my mum said I deserve better
I snap to your defense out of habit
He still loves me I shout
She looks at me with wise eyes
The way a mum looks at her daughter
Feeling it is the kind of thing
Even she cannot fix
It means nothing to me if he loves you
If he cannot do a single wretched thing about it
When I met your eyes
Those caramel hazel tone
Sparkled with bits of freshly cut grass
This tiny mouth smirking as I
Look at you one moment too long
You already knew how I felt around people
Hurt by the roots of my existence
Punished by the woman
Who used to be my home
I thought I've just found my new shelter
When you embrace me with your arms
Feeling like nothing could hurt me anymore
Nothing could
But you.
When I can’t stop thinking of you
I am so empty with craving I could eat all the divots at the golf course because
you done me dirt. Remember the times?
I waited in line for you for so many seasons
yet you dismiss me like an inconvenience
like a drizzle in a golf game.
I'm sick
Of wearing
This broken heart
On my sleeve.
