Late at night
She and I
Lay out our desires-
The base intentions
Overflow our lips and spill into wine glasses
Broken glass lead the way
For where we travel
Is not for the casual observer
Not for lesser people
Nor lesser purposes-
Purposeful chiming alerts us to the yawning gap ahead
A winding path
Never straight
Always bent around the idea that somehow
It is possible to traverse
Even the most lopsided of terrain
Sharp stings through violin strings
Bring the violence of lost springs
With hot springs, where she sings
Silently as his wings
-Unfurl-
Faithully as forged before
Fifty flounders waged in war
Warped from founders they ignore
Until their aching needs adore
-Contact-
Tactful marks bring back remarks
On his back, the words so stark
The sharpest tacks, and spindly marks
Will bite right down, her spinal arc
I sometimes ask myself why you? Why do I feel these emotions are true?
My mind retraces it's steps
To the start of everything
and I remember why I know it's you
On this path we've both walked
What's felt like mile,
has only been a few feet
What were blank faces, trapped in blank spaces
Are now colorful caricatures, discovering new places
Just two souls talking
Getting lost In the path they're walking
Once there was a desert,
With just another lonely soul
They'd wander every day,
Parched and broken
There appeared a river
He is like wildfire,
Encompassing everything-
Suffocating me.
Forever I am...
Broken- he left me this way!
I can't bear much more.
Don't say you loved me!
For all you say is a lie,
Part of some sick game.
The other makes me...
Whole- with his words and glances
I know he loves me.
My lover is my
Sanctum- his mind is the place
Where I shall find peace.
Every time I hear that song I think of you
And wonder if I still come to your mind
Probably not...
I'm not worth your thoughts
I broke your heart
If I deserve anything
It's your hatred
If I deserve anything
It's the foulest curse one can put upon another
If I deserve anything
It's anything but having you back
I know this
So why do I want you so damn badly
She is light
She doesn't believe so
But her smile powers my world
My world of rust and gears
This broken heart can once again function
From her kiss
Her touch invokes something in me
I didn't know I had
But how can one love another
If the place where we once met
Is no longer there
How can one love another
If that love is forbidden
Dirty and shameful
I am unashamed
But others
We are constant
A cycle
Like the earth turning on its axis
Your love for me is constant
Though it is not often we are together
I feel like we could be forever
My love for you is constant
Though I often push you away
Know that it hurts me to do so
We are constant
A cycle
Changing as the seasons
Me.
Broken, alone, hurt, and scared to love
No one understands
But then there's you.
You pick up the façade
You see right through
We are not the best of friends
Nor lovers, not by a mile
Yet somehow you see
With a way unknown to me
The tears behind my smile
No one has yet done that
Not even the one I hold dear
Tell me where you learned your trade
Are you broken as well?
Or perhaps you simply study your peers
He imagines the darkness to keep his own mind at bay
She'd give anything to know the definition of joy, just for a day
Seperate these two souls can't find peace
As one they are a distraction at the least
Tell me how darkness can fight the night of a different kind
Tell me why to sunsets this young girl is blind
Tell me a story both beautiful and sad
Tell me of knights and death and the life you once had
Tell me that you love me
No matter how unwhole
Tell me that you need me
With every fiber in your soul
Tell me worthless sweet nothings
Tell me of love, gained and lost
Tell me why sorrow appears in your eyes
When we kiss
I watch his musician's hands
Waiting
Hoping
Praying
That someday
Those pianist's fingers
Shall be entwined with my own
To someday call the pianist mine
Is but a fond dream
I long for the sensation of his fingertips playing a song on my skin
Alas
To the pianist
I am invisible, merely a face
I mean nothing
I always have
And I fear I always will
How can you see through my mask?
The one I've spent an eternity building?
Tried so hard to fit society's cast,
But you saw right through me.
You could tell me the tales of my own past
Without a stutter or a flaw
You know my mistakes
And have never once judged me
Because after all
You know how it feels to be broken.
Perhaps that is how you have removed my mask
And why I let you in.
I didn't say it -shuts lip.
It never happened- forget it.
I didn't speak, you didn't hear, the three words we want- so near.
You know I really like you, and you're obsessed with me.
But take some time, and this rhyme, to get how crazy 'us' can be.
This could really end quite badly.
This could tear us both in two. But the thing you see, so obviously, is you need me. I need you.
Lets just take a moment, lets not start the tears.
Lets not put fuel to fire- we knew this was always going to be near.
Thing is I can't stop saying, can't stop running through my head
Your smile, your laugh, your dreams, your arms- laying me down to rest.
I want to snuggle in your breath.
I'm warm with you, best guest.
