I see you watch her now,
It used to be me but once again it's her.
Shes noticed too but tells me she doesn't want you,
I know your pure heart,
If she ever gets to know you-
I'll be the supportive friend,
We were never meant to be,
Be happy, that's your plan.
Fix her heart, I'll fix my own.
Don't worry about me,
I'll always have a smile on my face, even when I'm too tired.
Don't look me in the eye though or else I might cry.
”Things will be fine” is their common line.
To tell you to just go away.
“Don’t touch what is mine or drink my good wine,
and no, don’t ask to stay.”
“We don’t care if you fail or end up in jail,
where it is you sleep or even if you bleed.
Just keep us mind when your struggles are over,
we love it when you succeed.”
Because they’ll be there,
like all the parties before.
Without knowledge or care,
just like a friend whore.
Every time I think
Of my old home,
My old life
All I ever want
Is for someone to love me
I don't mean to sound desperate
I don't mean to sound stupid
But I really wish
That I had someone to love me
I miss him
I miss him all the time
Every time I listen to that song on the radio
Every time I look at that necklace he gave me
I hate to say it
But my best friend is dead
His name was Jaylen
I need to let go
I need to be free
But for some reason
I can't
I can't let you go
I can't set myself free
I need to be alone
The thoughts of you trouble me
I love you and I don't know why
In all honesty your thoughts make me cry
I loved you
You where mine
Now I have suicidal thoughts all the time
"I love you Andrew"
Is all I can think
Why can't you love me too?
For the first time ever in my life
I just realized that I don't have a best friend
There's not a single person in this entire world
Whom I could share my problems with
I thought I had those kind of friends
The ones who won't judge me for who I am
The ones who understand every single thing going on in my life
But I was wrong
Because those were the first of the people who made my belief in the "best friends forever" thing to fade away...
And I feel like gradually, bit by bit, part by part, I am fading too
Into the dust, where no one would recognize me anymore, not even me. . .
We make ourselves a place apart
Behind light words that tease and flout,
But oh, the agitated heart
Till someone find us really out.
’Tis pity if the case require
(Or so we say) that in the end
We speak the literal to inspire
The understanding of a friend.
But so with all, from babes that play
At hide-and-seek to God afar,
So all who hide too well away
Must speak and tell us where they are.
The music dies upon the strings
But lingers on
Like other sweetly treasured things
Here once - and gone.
The breeze that blurs the mirror pool
Cannot erase
The outline of the forest cool
Upon its face.
The haunting fragrance of the flowers
Of yesterday
Not all the intervening hours
Can steal away.
And loving friends we used to know
Nor e’er forget
Although they left us long ago
Seem with us yet.
Three deep breaths, palms together,
Here in her room, or elsewhere, she may
Rise and take. A habit she has formed,
Even as most of her ideas, ideals,
Even her so cherished findings, hard found,
Deducted, inducted, reasoned, debated, polished,
Even those most like faith, as taught her,
Even those most like science, measured, observed,
Peeled one by one: a human desert, she.
By three deep breaths, she centers somehow: how?
Reality itself a question she's no longer asking,
Eating and sleeping themselves provisional.
All she bothers to call caring is now to listen
To breath, room sounds, outside sounds, to
Her friends, their worries unpacked, their voices
Spending both hope and pain. She bows.
My friends lean
Across the table.
My breath stops.
What was it
They saw?
Death sneaked up and took you,
my friend.
She found the door open,
and you lying there alone,
To the mill of hate
we had gone
grinding our tricks and our defamations
against each other.
Too many people had come to your funeral
my friend.
All of them downhearted, blubbering.
‘Why did you leave us, our friend?
Ah, man, you were too young to pass away.’
Friend,
if we really loved you that much
while you were still alive,
You promised War and Thunder and Romance.
You promised true, but we were very blind
And very young, and in our ignorance
We never called to mind
That truth is seldom kind.
You promised love, immortal as a star.
You promised true, yet how the truth can lie!
For now we grope for hands where no hands are,
And, deathless, still we cry,
Nor hope for a reply.
You promised harvest and a perfect yield.
You promised true, for on the harvest morn,
Behold a reaper strode across the field,
And man of woman born
Was gathered in as corn.
You promised honour and ordeal by flame.
Midsummer night without a moon, but the stars
In a serene bright multitude were there,
Even the shyest ones, even the faint motes shining
Low in the north, under the Little Bear.
When I have said, “This tragic farce I play in
Has neither dignity, delight nor end,”
The holy night draws all its stars around me,
I am ashamed, I have betrayed my Friend.
