Roles Switched

With shaky legs and trembling hands, Cowed is how my Courage stands Uneven breaths and bloodshot eyes, My Composure succumbs to panic and cries Betrayed, hurt and constantly lied to, Love mumbles bitterly, "What am I to do?" Those naïve enough to fall for lies and deceit, With unveiled scorn dies my "Compassion" meet Distrust was a nuisance,he put me in a foul mood But he also protected me from those, he was sure, were upto no good "Careful! Don't!", cautioned Fear, a skittish friend Held my hand and kept me safe till the journey's end Jealousy has been putting me down ever since I met 'er, What that did, was drive me mad, and drive me to do better Staggering along, weighing me down, is who else but Gloom

Triolet

As a child, there are things I just couldn’t know, that “love” is a nightingale held aloft by a hundred pale lies, that these frigid winged creatures are often just for show. As a teen there was nothing I thought I didn’t know except that forever can still mean never sometimes. As an adult there is still so much I admit I’ll never know but “love” is a nightingale held aloft by a hundred pale lies.

Saving Storms

Random rebel blues Just cry now, get it all out And then see where you stand It’s like day dreams – the way I see you now Last time I took you for a drive We made turns that we were unsure of Winding up somewhere outside the lines And then folded and settled – back the way we should’ve been Valentine’s Day And great promises for a new year Forgive me for forgiving time I was never good with vengeance I can’t ever seem to get it right Not the way that you did (She whispered to me one night) “Hush and fall back and find your place”

First Love

Like something new in the world today Like a prism of color Rain water dancing on the roof of my car Watching the girls play in the mud That once was sand That once was ocean That once was life And my God – Stopping myself from wanting What is probably natural (Replace the ones that I love) And I’m almost certain there’s truth In this misery Can’t find the off button The switch to makes this all go away What would you say if I kissed you?

needy

I want to be with you. I want to learn everything about you. I want to be the one you come to when you feel alone. I want to be your one. I want to be able to go to you. I want to learn to love again for you. I want to know you. I want you to know me. I want you to hold you. I want you to hold me. I want to trust you. I want you to trust me. I want to live a life where I'll come home knowing you're there. I want to be able to just be in your company and things be okay. I want you to love me. I want life to be calm when I'm around you. I want things to make sense with you. I want to have stupid cute couple moments with you.

Acceptance

I see the way you look at them. The fire in your eyes, the rose petal blushing facing across your skin. It's okay... I know. It's okay. I just want you to know that it's always okay If you love them, adore them over me... It's okay. You can't choose and you can't fight it. So go to them. Be there, take what is yours and never regret it. Because it's okay I love you It's okay...

Number #2

Heroin, cocaine, whiskey, Intoxicating, dangerous, brilliant, vibrant. Sunflowers, orchids, red, black, green, white, Safe, happiness and home, musk, content. The way we dance in secret, under the midnight sun, Silent promises and love filled smiles, So completely enchanted by one another. Whispered truths and frightful dreams, Animalistic urges, gentle caresses, Primal sounds and tender kisses Spasmodic movements, heated breath. More More Need Lust Us

Poem #24: Love

Love? What is love? It’s not a thing, Not a feeling, It’s not physical, Not mental, It’s not permanent, Not temporary, Love? What is love?

last christmas

it was the best time of the year hanging up the christmas lights, decorating the christmas tree joy and excitement filled my heart just like it did yours always at that time of the year though this time it came along with a hinge of sadness I love you and I will miss you it was our last christmas

Let Me

Where magic flows through Your soul, and kindness Which you allow to reach your heart Where the water taps The sky Where the mother never Bids the child A goodbye Where the little one's Laughter always echoes But never annoys Where you must travel to take me home Beyond those mountains and Past the trees. From where I was stolen, I long to go home

By The Child

Laughs, light, and twisted smiles If only it was seen by the child. Surrounded by covered faces If only it was known by the child. Love turns hate If only it was detected by the child. Games turn to fate If only it was undiscovered by the child. Walls learn to stay strong If only it was controlled by the child. Happiness be not a blanket If only it was worn by the child Love be not a mask If only it was learned by the child. If the dark is seen as light Let it be seen by the child.
